Magic Mountain Acrylic 4 ft x 4 ft

This is part of a mural I created for my Dad (1914- ) and his buddy Ed. They are building a model railroad and needed some atmosphere for the surrounding walls. No reference materials --simply out of my head. Masonite primed with gesso.

Concert in Mazatlan - the drawing

I made a fairly complete sketch on tracing paper. Watercolor is difficult enough without having to alter the drawing as you go. Unless you are doing "happy accident" watercolors, completing a drawing will make the final work much easier. It took a little time but as Mario Cooper said "What's your hurry? After all it's a work of Art" (Watercolor By Design, 1980). I find I enjoy drawing on tracing paper - it is so easy to make corrections and the paper is quite durable. Would you like to use my drawing and try this painting yourself? This original, signed drawing is available for 110.00 including shipping.

Concert in Mazatlan Pen & Charcoal 7.5" x 9.5"

From an internet photo. This is a preliminary sketch in preparation for a larger watercolor version. I used charcoal and pens on brown-toned cardboard. The highlighting is done with white charcoal. In making the drawing I started with the highlights, the upper arche and the right wall. Available at 110.00 including shipping.
