Making a bit of progress

Mom has this hanging in her place.  Did this watercolor in 1983.  An Italian restaurant on College Avenue in Berkeley.

Moving forward. This feels like a family.  Somewhat dowdy mom holding her dear daughter tight and the somewhat distant husband, with a hat just a bit small, lost in the wonder of the photographs of famous actors and artist/writers, a shop display made possible by recent advances in plate glass.

I think they are together--arms linked. I will do a small painting 12" x 16" and then perhaps a really large one.

This is half-size of the original which I understand to be 4' x 5'...I am working off a small photo from a magazine.  About 70% fini at this point.
